This is a quilt I made for the "Dirt Friendly Challenge." Actually, it turned out to be two smaller quilts, for little kids. I used Bonnie Hunter's pattern for Hidden Spools (see www.quiltville.com). It's easier than it may look. I'd like to try it with a neutral background sometime, but i guess this is better for hiding dirt.

Hi (I couldn't find out your name).
Thanks for what you said about my color exercises! Funny - we came in the same way to the hidden spools. I saw them at Bonnie too, and later this color exercise was one of my virtual tries.
Seems that we started our blog both just in this month, wish you all the best with finding contact by this medium.
I live next to Bielefeld, which is near Hannover.
Yesterday I used Google search for other blogs and typed in "deutschsprachig". I was very surprised I found a lot of German quilting blog which are written bilingual, means German as well as English.
How comes that you are in Hamburg and how does you like it there?

Thanks, Brigitte,
I will look for other German quilting blogs.

I came to HH because of a German boyfriend I met travelling about 8 years ago--have been her 6 yrs now and love Hamburg.

What sort of software do you use for your color exercises?

Hi Nettie,

By the way: Ich mag die Farben in deinen Hidden spools!

I've always wanted to be able to play with little snippets of fabric on the computer, kind of like you can do on the Design Board at equilter.com--do you know it? Fun, even tho it has obvious limitations. At least you can see if the colors/hues work together before you buy.

You can also reach me via email at nettie.hendricks@gmail.com
